To cite a top-level page (“Introduction,” “Methods,” etc.), please use the following format:

For citations of particular documents, please use the model print or web citation given at the bottom of eacb document page, following the commentary and credits. For example, to cite the entry for 9 Nov 1763 in print, give:

Black, David. 2014. “The Mozart family gives a concert in Brussels (9 Nov 1763).” In: Mozart: New Documents, edited by Dexter Edge and David Black. First published 5 Nov 2014; updated 6 Feb 2018. https://www.mozartdocuments.org/documents/9-november-1763/

Please always include the "updated" date (if there is one), and the full URL as shown here. To give a web citation for the same page, use the same format, but with the link embedded:
